Stun Gun, 50 Heroin Folds Found During Traffic Stop, Police Say

Trio faces drug charges following stop Monday night on I-80.

Three people are facing drug charges following a motor vehicle stop Monday night, Montville Police said.

John C. Stouch, 22 of Columbia, Janine A. Belverio, 23 of Mt. Bethel, Pa., and Justin Schoemer 18, of Blairstown, were pulled over on Interstate 80 West for having a rear taillight out at 11:23 p.m., police said.

Patrolman Brian Leech investigated the car and found “50 wax paper folds containing a white substance believed to be heroin and needles,” police said.

Belverio also had a stun gun and all three were arrested, charged and sent to Morris County Jail on $5,000 bail, police said. 

The trio was each charged with possession of heroin, conspiracy, possession of needles and under the influence of heroin. Belverio was also charged with possession of a stun gun.

Montville police conducted a traffic stop last week of another car and made a similar discovery of 218 wax paper folds containing a white substance believed to be heroin, several small bags of cocaine, needles and additional drug paraphernalia.
