Scotch and Cigars and Lots of Firefighter Food
Pine Brook Fire Department Hosts 2nd Annual Cigar Smoke Fundraiser.
A Scotch sampler will compliment the hand rolled cigars that will be found at the Pine Brook Volunteer Fire Department's second annual Cigar Smoke benefit on Friday, September 10, 2010.
"Every year we do a little something different," said Captain Donald Welter. "This year we are having a Scotch sampler to go with the cigars."
The unique fundraising event features a professional cigar roller and a variety of Scotches. The price of admission entitles those attending to 3 cigars, the Scotch sampler, and lots of home cooked food made by the company's own volunteer fire fighters.

"It's fun. It's different. People enjoy it," continued Welter. "Last year we had 165 people and raised $4,500. This year we hope to sell out."
The Cigar Smoke is Pine Brook Volunteer Fire Department's largest annual fundraising event. Proceeds from the Cigar Smoke will allow the department to prepare for its 100th anniversary in 2013.

"We're still in the early stages of planning," said Welter of the anniversary celebration. "We are hoping to have a fair or community party of some sort to commemorate our first 100 years. It depends on how much money we raise."
In addition to Cigars, Scotch and food, there will be door prizes and other activities.
"We'll have 'The Game' on the big screen TV," added Welter. "And, if the weather's nice, the party will extend out into the parking lot.
