Real Housewives Stars File Counterclaims Following Bloody Brawl

Montville's Joe Gorga and two other cast members accused of assaulting a man at the grand opening of a Ridgewood business on Saturday say they were the victims.

Three cast members of the Real Housewives of New Jersey, including Montville resident Joe Gorga, have filed counterclaims against a Paramus man who says he was beaten in a sink-throwing brawl Saturday night.

Gorga, and Chris and Jacqueline Laurita each filed counterclaims Thursday at Ridgewood Police Headquarters alleging that Johnny Karagiorgis, 38, assaulted and threatened them Saturday at the grand opening of Kim DePaola's Posche 2 clothing boutique in Ridgewood.

By the time the brawl was broken up by security, clothes were trampled, sinks were destroyed and blood stained the walls of 74 East Ridgewood Avenue.

Police said one of the claims made against Karagiorgis includes terroristic threats, an indictable offense.

A bloodied Karagiorgis walked into Ridgewood Police Headquarters Saturday night claiming he was the victim of an assault, naming Joe Gorga, Christopher Laurita, and Jacqueline Laurita as the aggressors.

Until he arrived at police headquarters around 10 p.m., police had not been aware a fight had occurred, Ridgewood Police Chief John Ward told Patch. They are investigating what occurred at the location, which houses Moxie Salon's second Ridgewood location.

The events that led to the fight – which was captured by the cameras of Bravo, the network that airs the show – remain unclear.

Multiple sources told Patch Karagiorgis allegedly made offensive comments about the Lauritas' autistic three-year-old son, drawing the rage of the Lauritas. The same sources say Gorga confronted Karagiorgis over public comments Karagiorgis and an ex-boyfriend of his wife Melissa made in recent months. During the brief-but-intense scuffle, Karagiorgis said Jacqueline Laurita also struck him with the point of her Stiletto.

A witness said cast member Albie Manzo participated in the fight, but was not named in any complaints.

Karagiorgis denies he made any comments regarding Lauritas' autistic son and claims he was “set up” by producers of Bravo.

“This is the type of notoriety I don’t want,” Karagiorgis told northjersey.com. “I never spoke negatively about any child.”

A probable cause review from Ridgewood Municipal Court Judge David Pfund will determine if the complaints lead to charges being filed.
