Purse Theft at Pine Brook Apartment Under Investigation

Police said woman's credit cards, other items were stolen after pry marks were found on the front door.

Montville Township police are investigating the apparent burglary of a Pine Brook apartment in which a purse and credit cards were reported stolen on Jan. 16.

Capt. Rudy Appelmann said the value of the purse is about $200, including items inside that were taken.

Police responded to Rachel Gardens to investigate and Appelmann said officers saw pry marks on the front door of the apartment. The purse appeared to be the only thing missing from the residence and the residents said they were out of the apartment for about an hour between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.
