Police Investigating Residential Burglaries

In both incidents, police said residents were not home.

are investigating two residential burglaries that occurred over the past week where residents were not home at the time.

Police said in a Nixle alert sent out Wednesday the first burglary happened last Thursday between 6 p.m. and midnight on Starkey Place and the second burglary happened on Monday between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Ashland Drive.

"Both incidents are under investigation and detectives are following up on any and all leads. Surrounding towns have been experiencing similar crimes and we have been working with those police departments on these investigations," police said in the alert.

Police are asking anyone who has witnessed "suspicious activity," including suspicious vehicles or people, in their neighborhood to contact them at 973-257-4300.
