Police Arrest Two in Connection to String of Burglaries

Two Morris County residents are charged with six counts of theft.

The Montville Police Department arrested two Morris County residents in connection with a string of burglaries last month in Pine Brook.

According to a release from the department, police have charged Robert J. Volpe-Bonomo, 30, of Butler, and Marko Lukic, 29, of Riverdale, each with six counts of theft, four counts of burglary and four counts of conspiracy to commit burglary.

The two men are allegedly responsible for a string of burglaries in Montville between Jan. 28 and Feb. 7. Police suspect the two men were allegedly responsible for incidents that include stealing tools from a Towaco resident’s garage and taking checks out of a resident’s mailbox on Quarry Mountain Lane.

A joint investigation was conducted by detectives from the Montville Township Police Department, Wayne Police Department, Pequannock Police Department, Riverdale Police Department, Fairfield Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office. 

Capt. Ed Rosellini, of the Montville Police Department, said that residents keeping an eye out for suspicious activity in their neighborhoods would lead to more arrests.
