More Than 1,400 Without Power Saturday

JCP&L reports power outages in and around the Montville area Saturday evening.

JCP&L reported over 1,400 customers lost power in Montville during the thunderstorm on Saturday early evening.

The power company's outage map shows the customers affected by the outage shortly before 6 p.m.

Other surrounding areas in Boonton, Parisppany and Lincoln Park lost power as well.

According to John Anderson, a spokesperson for JCP&L, there are two different circuits without power in Montville, and crews are currently working to make an assessment of the lockout. There isn't an exact time estimate for the power restoration yet, he said.

Anderson said the cause of the outage was from trees that took down power lines during Saturday's thunderstorm.
