Drunken Driver Crashes Into Oncoming Vehicle, Police Say

Montville resident faces DWI, assault by auto and motor vehicle summonses for Lincoln Park accident.

A Montville woman was drunk when her SUV crossed into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle in Lincoln Park, police said.

Krista Petronzio, 33, was charged with DWI, assault by auto and received two motor vehicle summonses. She was released pending a court date, according to Sgt. Gary Massaro, of the Denville Police Department.

Massaro confirmed that around 10:20 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, Petronzio was driving her 2013 Toyota SUV south on Comly Road when she went over the double yellow lines into oncoming traffic and crashed into a two-door 2000 Ford.

The ford was driven by a 17-year-old from Lincoln Park, who was transported Morristown Medical Center for neck pain but he was released soon after, according to Massaro.
