Montville Police Explorers Add Advisor

The Montville Township Explorers Post 805 have introduced Ryan Taylor, a former national youth explorers representative, as the assistant advisor to the local post.

 "Our local Explorer program is growing and with the addition of Ryan Taylor as advisor to the post, our program will continue to expand without needing additional resources from the township," said Frank Cooney, Montville police explorer advisor. "I am looking forward to working with Ryan and the entire post welcomes him to our program."

As a national youth representative, Taylor served as a liaison between the 35,000 youth currently involved in the explorer program across the country and the national committee, which acts as the governing body of the explorer program.

During his tenure, Taylor worked to improve communications between the national committee and local posts across the country by, among other things, making informational improvements to the explorer website.

"I'm really looking forward to working with the kids," he said. "I've known many of them for a while now and developed relationships with them as explorers. I'm looking forward to teaching the new additions to the post, helping us hone our skills to win trophies at the competitions and presenting ourselves to the community in the way we should be."
