Popular Politico Found Dead in Montville Pool

Family members found John Becker unresponsive in the pool at his Orchard Drive home in Towaco Monday night.

A 75-year-old man was pronounced dead Monday night after relatives found him unresponsive in a pool at his Orchard Drive home in Towaco, police said.

John Becker was found unresponsive at about 9 p.m. Monday. Becker was active in Republican and Tea Party politics and advocated for senior citizens, according to the Daily Record.

Police believe Becker may have been trying to reattach a pool cover, according to NJ.com.
