Man in Cowboy Hat Sought in Lincoln Park Bank Robbery

No weapon shown in Friday afternoon incident at Capital One Bank.

Authorities are looking for a man wearing a cowboy hat who robbed a Lincoln Park bank Friday afternoon, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.

A white male in his early 30s wearing a white- or yellow-colored shirt with a green blazer, dress pants and a straw cowboy hat robbed the Capital One Bank on Comly Road near the corner of Boonton Turnpike at about 3:30 p.m., the prosecutor's office said.

The man did not show a weapon and made off with an undetermined amount of money, the prosecutor's office said.

Authorities have been looking for a well-dressed man who also did not show a weapon when he robbed a and last month.

"As part of the normal investigative process, we will review other incidents to determine any similarities," the prosecutor's office said in a statement regarding the Lincoln Park incident.

The Lincoln Park Police Department, Morris County Prosecutor's Office Major Crime Unit, Morris County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Section and the Federal Bureau of Investigation remained on the scene in Lincoln Park Friday evening.
