'Life-Threatening' Conditions at Sandy's Peak, Cops Say

Limited space available at shelter set up at Montville High School.

Tropical Storm produced "life-threatening" conditions as it swept through the township Monday night, Montville Police said in a Nixle alert.

According to police, there were widespread outages and down electric wires and poles as of Monday shortly before midnight. Most roadways remained blocked and impassable, police said.

An emergency shelter was opened at Montville High School. Due to its limited space, the shleter was restricted to those who had no other options, police said.
