Joe Giudice Indicted on Charge of Using Brother's ID

Giuseppe "Joe" Giudice, a Montville Township resident and cast member on "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," was indicted Tuesday on charges stemming from Giudice to get a driver's license under his brother's name while his own license was suspended, authorities said.

The indictment charges Giudice, the husband of Teresa Giudice, with wrongfully using another person's identifying information and with impersonation, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announced in a news release.

Giudice allegedly obtained the license at the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Office in Paterson in June 2010 with his brother Pietro's documents while his legitimate license was suspended for a DUI he was charged by with committing in the township.

The fraudulent driver's license investigation started when Lincoln Park police pulled over Pietro Giudice during a routine stop. Authorities ran Pietro Giudice's information, but Joe Giudice's photograph showed up, authorities said.

Wrongfully using another's identifying information is punishable by up to 10 years in state prison, according to the news release. Impersonation is punishable by up to 18 months in state prison.

Attempts to reach Giudice or an attorney for him were not successful.
