Gov's Visit Prompts Expanded Parking Plan

Parking will be limited at the Pine Brook Jewish Center when Gov. Chris Christie comes to Montville Wednesday, but a shuttle service will be available for attendees.

As Gov. Chris Christie will make a visit to Montville on Wednesday, Montville Township police have a parking plan in place that will allow attendees who are parked furthest from the venue to be shuttled in.

Christie will be hosting a town hall meeting at the Pine Brook Jewish Center beginning at 10:30 a.m. (doors open at 9:45 a.m.). While parking will be limited at the Jewish Center, some general and handicapped parking will be available there to those who arrive first.

According to Montville Township Police Capt. Rudy Appelmann, parking will also be available on certain surrounding streets. Those streets include Brittany Road, Cheryl Road and additional adjacent side streets.

"Some walking will be required to reach the venue," Appelmann said. "Montville Township Dial-a-Ride vans will be providing limited shuttle service for on-street parking."

Additional parking will be available at the Trinity Baptist Church, located at the corner of Changebridge and Horseneck Roads. Limited bus service will also be available from the church to the Jewish Center.
