Firefighters Battle Towaco Blaze for 7 Hours

Six departments extinguish fire at Hardwood Hill Forest Products on Old Jacksonville Road.

Firefighters from six towns in the area responded early Monday morning to a blaze at Hardwood Hill Forest Products on Old Jacksonville Road in Towaco. The crews battled the blaze for more than seven hours before it was put down.

Two buildings, two vehicles and a variety of other equipment was lost to the fire, including a grinder machine valued at $300,000. No one was hurt in the blaze.

Fire crews from Towaco, Montville, Boonton Township, Morris Plains, Lincoln Park and Kinnelon were on scene at the fire. Another crew from Pine Brook was on standby at the Towaco Fire Department.
