Car Accident Knocks Down Utility Pole, Closes Horseneck Road for Hours

Repairs were completed after about seven hours and the road re-opened.

A car accident Monday morning "knocked down a utility pole and wires," said Montville Police.

Horseneck Road between Pine Brook Road and Underwood Drive closed for repairs for several hours.

The "roadway is not passable. JCP&L crews on scene and estimate repairs may be completed by (Monday) evening," said Captain Rudy Appelmann in a Nixle alert sent out around 9 a.m. Monday morning.

A little after 4 p.m., Appelmann sent out another alert letting motorists know that "Horseneck Road has been re opened (and) utility work has been completed."
