Burglary at Two Towaco Businesses

Fortune City Chinese restaurant and Bollo Salon targeted in break-ins.

A burglary occurred at two local businesses Sunday, August 1 in the early morning, resulting in the loss of "a few hundred dollars," according to one Fortune City employee Inga Liu.

The crime, which took place on August 1 between 2 and 4:30 a.m according to what local police told Liu, involved an unknown number of burglars breaking the restaurant's front door and taking an undisclosed sum of money from the premises. According to Liu, whose restaurant is part of a development that houses the Red Barn restaurant on Route 202 in town, said the Bollo Salon was also broken in to and robbed for an undisclosed amount of money.

A representative from the Bollo Salon confirmed a break in, but was unable to provide further comment. Neither business commented on specifics of what was taken.

"It really could have been worse," she said. "Most places keep a little money in the register overnight. I think it's strange that only two places got broken into on this strip."

Liu, who was alerted by police about the burglary around 6 a.m. on Aug. 1, was told that one of the of thieves left blood samples on the broken front door. She is hopeful that it may lead to catching the responsible party.
