Man's Body Found in Trunk of Car in Lincoln Park Woods

Authorities are trying to determine man's identity and how he died.

Authorities are trying to identify a man whose body was found Thursday morning in the trunk of a car in a wooded area off Ryerson Road in Lincoln Park, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.

Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi and Lincoln Park Acting Police Chief Mark West said in a news release the death is suspicious and the cause of death is pending an autopsy.

A person walking near Ryerson Road saw the car around 8 a.m. and flagged down a Lincoln Park police officer. Police responded to the car, a white 1996 Toyota Camry with New York license plates, and found the body of the man, who police believe was Hispanic and in his 20s or early 30s, the news release said.
