Authorities: Man Killed, One Suspect Arrested in Fatal Riverdale Stabbing

Man fatally wounded Monday night on Hamburg Turnpike.

One suspect is in custody following a fatal stabbing on Hamburg Turnpike in Riverdale late Monday night, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.

Authorities received a 911 call from a Hamburg Turnpike resident reporting a stabbing Monday night at about 11:50 p.m., according to statement released Tuesday morning by Capt. Jeffrey Paul, a spokesman for Morris County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi.

The male victim was aided and transported by the Pompton Lakes First Aid Squad and the Chilton Memorial Advanced Life Support Unit to Chilton Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead, the prosecutor's office said.

One individual is in custody, according to the prosecutor's office. The identities of the suspect and the victim were not immediately released.

The incident remains under investigation and no other details were immediately available.
