3 Apprehended at Gunpoint on Route 46
Fairfield police said individuals were believed to be involved with a purse theft.
Three individuals were taken into custody at gunpoint in Fairfield Friday afternoon after state police believed they were allegedly involved with a purse theft.
Route 46, where the arrest occurred, was shut down for a brief period of time.
Fairfield Deputy Police Chief Anthony Manna said the individuals were arrested near Hollywood Avenue. New Jersey State Police said no further information was immediately available.
