2nd Victim Accuses Ex-Teacher of Sexual Assault

Former Montville educator arrested again on aggravated sexual assault, other charges.

A former Montville first-grade teacher faces additional sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child charges after a second victim came forward this week, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said Saturday morning.

Jason Fennes, who was released on bail earlier this week, was arrested at a Cranford residence Friday night on charges of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Fennes, 37, formerly of Boonton who is now living in Bloomfield, is being held at the Morris County Correctional Facility on $300,000 bail with no 10 percent option.

According to Capt. Jeffrey Paul, a spokesman for Morris County Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi, the latest charges are the result of a second victim coming forward regarding an alleged incident in Montville during the 2006-07 school year.

Fennes, a former first-grade teacher at , was arrested Monday afternoon and charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly abusing a girl who was in his class in 2005, authorities said.

Fennes was released on bail after appearing in court Wednesday on those charges. His attorney, Julian Wilsey, said his client denied the charges and the allegations stemmed from a grudge a man had with Fennes.

Fennes worked in the Montville school district from September 1998 until he resigned in June 2010, according to district Superintendent Dr. Paul Fried. Fried said Fennes had coached track at , but was not sure what years he coached.

The Montville Board of Education said this week Fennes had been for alleged improper conduct with students. However, those allegations did not include allegations of sexual contact, the board said.

After leaving the Montville school district, Fennes became a first-grade teacher at Cedar Hill Prep School in Somerset from September 2010 until a couple of weeks ago, according to a Cedar Hill Prep official, who declined to comment further.

Fennes has been removed from the MTC Rebels Track Club program, an independent club where he had been listed as a director, in light of the charges, club director Angelo Harasts said Tuesday.

Morris County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi asks anyone with information regarding Fennes to contact the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Sex Crimes Unit at 973-285-6200, Montville Township Police Department at 973-257-4300 or the Morris County Crime Stopper Program at 973-COPCALL.

i hope none of the people who "knew for a long time" didn't have their own children in his class....and did nothing. yikes!
Dory Degen March 15, 2012 at 05:10 PM
oh brother.
Dory Degen March 15, 2012 at 05:19 PM
well it hasn't been proven yet. and a lot of people are alcoholics and hide it from everyone. but granted, its a low blow and has little to do with whether fennes committed these crimes or not.
Dory Degen March 15, 2012 at 05:24 PM
ip addresses don't show on posts.
Dory Degen March 15, 2012 at 05:28 PM
agrred. there is reasonable doubt so far. if fennes is a pedo, i hope to god the prosecutor does his job.

Call the police and file a complaint about the showering situation. The school is NOT the end of the line for parent complaints! Adults should NOT be showering with the students nor "hanging around the showers" while the kids are using them.
maryann teresa March 15, 2012 at 05:53 PM
ms or mr "almighty"...may God save your soul for supporting a pedofile and help you sleep at night.
maryann teresa March 15, 2012 at 06:03 PM
very good advice lola.

Does anyone know where Dr. Adams is??????
Kelly March 15, 2012 at 08:59 PM
Dory Degen..i'm not naive. He set bail at a high rate because they now have two victims and he was a flight risk i'm sure. From what i gathered from some in town, they couldn't find the jerk to arrest him the first time. He has no kids, no wife, no home, nothing that would keep him in our state. the judge sees evidence that the public and even his lawyer can't see.
Kelly March 15, 2012 at 09:08 PM
Benjamin, your waaaayyyyy to concerned about Fennes. As far as Montville is concerned the father is a hero. He was proven right. I was on that track field with my kid and i couldn't imagine a father having to sit there watching a possible pediphile who was sleeping with my ex-wife or family member touch my daughter in any way. it's a fact that pediphiles date single women with kids just to have access to the kids. its sick just to think about it.
Kelly March 15, 2012 at 09:16 PM
Dory, what reasonable doubt?
maryann teresa March 15, 2012 at 09:34 PM
elizabeth, im sure that they will find her.
Dory Degen March 15, 2012 at 10:33 PM
all they really have to do is confiscate his home computer. if he is a pedo there will be evidence on there. pedophiles can't stop downloading child porn.
Dory Degen March 15, 2012 at 10:37 PM
or start a demonstration outside of whatever school that was. then dan can come down and write about it. the school would have to take notice at that point. if i found out a grown man took a shower with my son i probably would do a lot more than just post about it in patchville.
bull dog March 15, 2012 at 10:48 PM
HAAAAA....therefore if an adult has sex with a 6 year old child and doesn't have kiddy porn on his computer he's not a pedophile. Thank God you're not the prosecutor or the defense attorney on this case. Furthermore, thank God you're not on the jury. that's all they really have to do huh?

Elizabeth, We have called her for comment several times but not received a response.
Ridiculous March 16, 2012 at 11:43 AM
The shower incident was an off site facility where the kids and coach worked out early morning before school. There were shower stalls and he did not run around in the buff. This is a man trying to support a family. Enough!
Kelly March 16, 2012 at 01:36 PM
Dory, not all sex offenders download child porn.
Kelly March 16, 2012 at 01:39 PM
Ariana, is there anyway you can find out what was in the discipline charges that went against Fennes where he was written up, got no pay raise and then was suspended? and can you talk to parents from the cedar hill school and find out what happened there? thanks for trying to contact her.
EM March 16, 2012 at 02:13 PM
Ridiculous has the correct user name! Because he's right - ENOUGH. If there were webcams on everyones computers and we could see what you all looked like, I have a feeling half of you would be eating popcorn and gleefully trying to stir up drama. Please. Let the facts come out and stop starting new unwarranted drama.
Dory Degen March 17, 2012 at 06:46 PM
fair enough.
Papadopoulos Bachagaloop March 18, 2012 at 07:03 PM
Back in the early 1990's, a teacher from Passaic was accused by one of his female students that he touched her "inappropriately". A friend who was waiting for her in the hall claimed she eyewitnessed this "touching in the privit areas" of her friend. The teacher was suspended, indited by the Grand Jury and went to trial. During the trial, when the victim was giving testimony to the prosecutor, she made her claims all over again: The teacher asked ther to stay after class to review a homework assignment. While standing next to his desk, he started to touch her on her buttocks, thighs and on the side of her breast. When the defense attorney cross examined her, she broke down and atmeitted to making the whole thing up and that she made her friend lie for her, so she would have a backup for her accusations. **Continued below
Papadopoulos Bachagaloop March 18, 2012 at 07:04 PM
**Continued from above Why, she was asked, did she make up such a thing? Her responce was that she was failing his class and her parents warned her that if she did not bring up her math grades, she would be grounded for the summer months. Her girl friend admitted to lying also, to help her "hang out friend", out of her situation. The Judge dissmissed all charges. The prosecutor sent the case to juvinile court, against the two girls, for filing a false police report. The teacher was reinstated to his former position at his school, however, even though the newspapers screamed of his innocence on their front pages and letters were sent to all parents, the parents choose to not believe in his innocence. He moved to Florida to live with his wife's parents (his wife and children moved with him) because he was forced to sell his home to raise the money for his defense.
Papadopoulos Bachagaloop March 18, 2012 at 07:10 PM
So since none of us know what took place (unless you eyewitnessed it) lets ease on the hate talk untill the truth comes out. You would not like to be falsely accused by public opinion, so why do it to someone else ? BTW_ "admeitted" should have been "admitted". Sorry.
Sam March 18, 2012 at 07:19 PM
Gimme a break. This is many victims and many accusers. VERY different from your story. Can't even compare. Be intelligent please.

How many is many. So far I've heard of no more
