$1K Worth of Leather Jackets Stolen From Clothing Store

Two or more men took off from Burlington Coat Factory with coats, police said.

Montville police are investigating a reported shoplifting incident where Capt. Rudy Appelmann said five black leather jackets were stolen from Burlington Coat Factory in Pine Brook on Jan. 22.

Several, between two and four, men described as being Hispanic and wearing baseball caps allegedly shoplifted the coats before 8 p.m., when the store manager called police, Appelmann said. The total value of the stolen coats is about $1,000.

Appelmann said the store manager ran after the men and watched them run toward Dunkin Donuts on Route 46 before she could no longer see them.
