Lazar Students Replace More Than 150 Flags on Veteran Graves

From the Revolution to today, veterans honored with flags.

For the ninth consecutive year, students from Robert R. Lazar Middle School in Montville Township took part in the annual Montville VFW Post 5481 Flag Project.

In honor of Memorial Day, seventeen students joined advisors, Richard Crescente, and Michelle Trautmann, and VFW members, in Montville’s historic Pinebrook and Church Lane Cemeteries. The students replaced over 150 flags on veteran graves.

The flags honored veterans from many wars including the Revolutionary War, Civil War, Spanish American War, WWI, WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War.
