Key Club & Kiwanis Coordinating Supply Drive for Local Troops

'Operation Home Front' collection ends May 30.

The Montville Township High School Key Club [MTHS], under the guidance of the Montville Kiwanis Club, is helping to coordinate a supply drive for local troops. The grass-roots collection, known as “Operation Home Front,” is 100% community driven and is being held to benefit Montville residents currently enlisted in active service. Collections for “Operation Home Front” are being accepted at MTHS through May 30, 2014.

Run by Montville’s own Key Club and Kiwanis organizations, “Operation Home Front” will send care packages directly to local service men and women. Unlike larger collections run by national organizations, these clubs guarantee that all donations provided will be sent directly to Montville residents enlisted in active service.

Montville Kiwanis and Key Club, have a long history of taking an active role in supporting the U.S. Armed Forces. Because “Operation Home Front” strives to provide direct assistance to Montville Township residents actively serving their country, this year’s initiative is particularly important to the Montville community.

All donations will be shipped directly to local troops at their service mailing addresses. Kiwanis and Key Club have partnered with Montville VFW Post 5481 to identify local service members, and are seeking the assistance of the community to ensure all troops are accounted for. If you have a loved one that is currently serving at home or abroad, please e-mail MontvilleHomeFront@Gmail.com.

Donations will be separated into three categories: SNACK FOODS, HYGIENE, & PERSONAL ITEMS. LETTERS and NOTES of encouragement are also being collected. The first round of collections will be sorted by Key Club and Kiwanis members into care packages to be shipped out by the end of June.
