DADS & DAUGHTERS DANCE

WARM ATMOSPHERE ON A COLD NIGHT

The William Mason Elementary School in Montville Township held its 3rd Annual Father Daughter Dance, on February 21, 2014.

Sponsored by the William Mason Home and School Association, the popular event is considered by many at the school to be the social event of the season.

Despite the cold, more than 90 girls from kindergarten through fifth grade joined their fathers for a fun-filled evening of dinner and dancing.

Daughters dressed for the special occasion in gowns, or party dresses, with glittery jewelry and coiffed hair. Dads wore fancy suits and ties, or even a tuxedo. Most girls, and some dads, were also adorned with corsages.

Dads and daughters danced the night away surrounded by festive pink and red balloons which transformed the All-Purpose room into a ballroom for the evening.

“This isn’t a fund raiser,” explained former Home and School president, Mary Iervolino who helped to organize the event. “This is a social event, a gift to the community.”

To commemorate the evening, Home and School president, Liana Bassin, took professional portraits of girls with their dads.
