SUPPORT THE SCHOOLS TODAY FOR "SHOP LOCAL SATURDAY"!!
Everybody knows that the Friday after Thanksgiving is a major shopping day called "Black Friday", but did you know that Saturday, November 27 is "Shop Local Saturday"? This new tradition, fully endorsed by Governor Christie, is a way to support your home town's independent businesses while you prepare for the holidays. Buying gifts is only part of what most people need to do to get ready. If you have plants to buy, a limo to order for the airport, a haircut to get, car servicing, or home cleaning to do, think about the wonderful businesses available right here in the Montville area. How about a fitness membership for you or someone on your list?
Many local businesses are participating in the "SHOP + LOCAL = $ FOR SCHOOLS" joint fundraiser between the Montville Chamber of Commerce and some the schools' Parent-Teacher Organizations. Seventeen of them have offered to donate to your favorite school PTC or Home & School Association when you purchase from them ALL YEAR LONG. Others make special offers for specific times. Watch for those offers as they change from time to time; more Specials will be effective as of December 1!
On Shop Local Saturday, please frequent your hometown stores and businesses. And remember, the following businesses will also give back to the schools:
