Slim Margins Usher in Morella, O'Brien, Novi for Montville BOE

Unofficial results: Only a .4 percent vote difference pushed Diane Bordonaro out of a Montville School Board seat.

For the Montville school board, the race came down to a 113 votes separating the winners and losers. Challenger Michael O'Brien and Incumbents John Morella and Carmela Novi defeated Challenger Diane Bordonaro for three seats with 3-year terms.

Here are the unofficial results according to the Morris County Board of Elections:

  • Carmela Novi 1,997—24.80%
  • Michael F. OBrien 2,012—24.99%
  • John Morella 2,137—26.54%
  • Diane M. Bordonaro 1,884—23.40%

For the unexpired two-year term available on the board, David Modrak ran unchallenged and received 2,316 of the 2,328 votes. There were 12 write-in votes.
