Economy, Schools Draw Montville Voters

The flow of District 1 voters coming out to the Montville Senior House has been steady all day with expected spikes throughout the day.

As of 6:26 pm, there were 367 voters at the Senior House.

There was a bump in the morning with people going to work, another around lunch, and another around 3:30 p.m. when families were picking up the kids from school, said poll worker Morgan Dowd.

"The turnout is a little heavy now and will trickle for the rest the night," said Dowd, adding that an handful of people will probably come right at the end.

If you haven't voted yet, make sure to go out by 8 p.m.

Residents said there were a number of issues that brought them out to the polls today.

"The New Jersey economy and the schools" brought Michael Caggiano to the voting booth today.

"Too bad we can't vote for the budget," he added.

He and another resident, Kathy Wu, said they vote because it's their civic duty.

"I come out and vote every year," said Wu.
