Where To See Fireworks This Weekend

Nearby towns with fireworks celebrations.

Just because Montville had its Fourth of July celebration a week early, that doesn't mean people can't get out and enjoy a second helping of patriotism (and explosions).

Here's a quick rundown of near-by places that have fireworks popping off this weekend.

The annual Dover fireworks display is being held on Saturday, July 3, at Hamilton Field on Route 46. The night starts off with a concert from a band named The Kootz, followed by the fireworks. Refreshments will be on sale as part of non-profit and school fundraises. Alcohol is not allowed. Festivities start at 6 p.m. Admission is $3 a person, $1 for senior citizens.

Check Chatham Patch for more details about the goings-on.

Short Hills is also having its celebration on July 4. The town's celebration begins at 9 a.m. and will include a parade, carnival and fireworks. The gates for the fireworks open at 7 p.m., with the show slated to start at 9 p.m. Check out Millburn-Short Hills Patch for the full rundown of events.

Feel free to add your anywhere else nearby where people can celebrate this weekend. Of course, you could always stay home and watch the display from last week's celebration, or re-live all of Montville's celebration.
