Tornado Watch For Morris County

To last until 1 a.m. Saturday

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Morris County for Friday evening, set to last until 1 a.m. Saturday.

According to the service, residents should visit weather.gov for information and updates. The release also encourages people to report any strange weather patterns to the service.

A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes in and close to the watch area.

Other New Jersey counties affected by the tornado watch include Bergen, Union, Essex, Passaic, Warren, Husdon and Sussex. 

Heat and air quality advisories are also in effect for Morris County. The heat advisory is set to last untill 8 p.m. Friday The air advisory is in place until 10 p.m. Friday, then will be in effect again on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.
