'Tis The Season For Shopping

Montville has more than enough shopping outlets this week.

Looking for something to do in and around Montville this week? You are in luck, as we've got something for you to do every day this week:

Monday: The Montville Township Schools President's Council is sponsoring an advanced screening of "Race to Nowhere," a documentary about the "high stakes, high pressure culture" in American schools. According to a release, the film focuses on the lives of students and educators in the school system and will not be released in theaters until Feb. 2011. After the screening, there will be a panel featuring three teachers and administrators and one student. Interested parties can get tickets at the group's website. The screening is at 7 p.m. at Montville High School

Tuesday: The Boonton MOMS club is hosting a to benefit Towaco resident Shane Haltmeier, who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma earlier this year. 100 percent of the proceeds from purchases will be sent to the Haltmeier family. The Vendor night runs from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Senior House at 356 Main Road.

Wednesday: is hosting a in preparation for winter. The hike, which is open to all ages with preregistration, will focus on how different species survive in winter and give kids a chance to get some cold-weather exercise. The walk costs $5 for every children aged 3 and older and starts at 1 p.m.

Thursday: The Red Cross of Northern New Jersey is hosting a First Aid and CPR class for adults in Farfield. Participants will learn to recognize and respond to shock, cardiac and breathing emergencies, heat and cold related emereginces and suddent illness in adults. Certification is valid for one year. The class costs $65 and can be registed for at the group's website.

Friday: People looking to hear a little Christmas music would do well to head over to Essex Fells for the BarlowGirl acoustic Christmas concert. The show starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20. More information can be found at the Calvary Events website.

Saturday: ABC's of Learning is hosting its first annual , featuring local vendors and artisans, as well as plenty of baked goods. Proceeds will go to ABC's of Learning School. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is free to all.

Sunday: Saks at the Mall at Short Hills is hosting a Those who purchase a $25 tax-deductable ticket will be treated to light brunch and mimosas, as well as a 15 percent-off gift card to be used that day. Proceeds from the tickets sales will go to CASA of Morris and Sussex Counties, a non-profit for abused and neglected foster care children. Check out the website for more information.
