Robber Unmasked, Identity Revealed, Fire Explained and Power Project on Hold: Week in Review

A rundown of stories from August 9 to 14.

In case you missed anything, here is a rundown of some things Montville Patch reported on last week.

The FBI released a photo of the man suspected to be on August 2. The suspect was most recently connected to an attempted robbery in Bloomfield on August 9.

Authorities confirmed that the man killed in a hit-and-run incident on Route 46 on August 6, was 28-year-old Pine Brook resident Javier Zet-Sabin. Police are still looking for information regarding a white, four door sedan that left the scene of the accident.

Pine Brook and Towaco fire departments responded to a house fire at 13 Bogert Avenue in Pine Brook on August 10. According to fire inspectors, the incident was the result of a cigarette in a waste basket. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire, though the home sustained smoke damage.

PSE&G has delayed its Susquehanna-Roseland power line upgrade, a project that would involve construction to over seven miles of line in the township, while it attempts to secure the necessary environmental permits for construction.

New salary ranges for several key positions in the township could result in over $400,000 in savings for Montville, according to an ordinance discussed at the township committee meeting on August 10. The new salaries are significantly lower than previously set amounts, but, according to town administrator Frank Bastone, the response from potential applicants has been positive.

The Montville recreation department closed off its summer concert series with a rock show by Boonton-band Northern Comfort. The concert was a benefit for the Kiwanis food bank.

Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member and Towaco native Teresa Guidice held a book signing in Denville on August 13.
