Purple Line on Road Will Lead to Relay for Life

The overnight June 7 event is being held at a new location.

Community members participating in Montville Relay for Life who might not get the memo about the event's new location this year need only follow the purple line.

The venue is Camp Dawson this year while synthetic turf is being installed at Montville Township High School, where the event has been held in the past.

The line will start at the high school on Horseneck Road and lead to Camp Dawson on Jacksonville Road.

"It is our hope that the purple line will lead our Relayers to the right location while generating excitement within our community about Relay," Relay for Life Co-Chairs Terry Becker and Mary Osborne-Marrero wrote in a letter to Township Administrator Victor Canning requesting the line.

The paint will be temporary, won't cover the yellow traffic lines, and painting the line is expected to take the Department of Public Works about an hour, the letter says.
