Playoff Sports Kick Off The Week

If you're looking for a reason to go out for dinner, there will be a few fundraisers this week at local restaurants.

What's going on in the township this week? See below for a rundown of five things to do in or near Montville.

1. This will be an important week for sports. On Monday and Tuesday three varsity teams will compete in their first round games of the NJSIAA state tournaments. No. 1 seeded varsity baseball will kick off the playoff action on Monday when they host Pascack Valley at 4 p.m. Softball will travel to Passaic Valley on Tuesday at 4 p.m. Boys lacrosse will travel to Hopewell Valley on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

2. The township committee is scheduled to meet on Tuesday night in the municipal building. The open public session begins at 8 p.m. Agendas are normally posted to the Montville Township website prior to each meeting.

3. The Montville Township Board of Education will also meet at 8 p.m. on Tuesday night in the cafeteria of the high school. Last week's May 17 regular meeting of the board was cancelled.

4. The Relay For Life of Montville is scheduled for June 10 and 11 at the high school, and there have been many opportunities to donate or participate recently. On Thursday, another opportunity is available for those looking to help: If you grab a meal at between 4 and 8:30 p.m., a portion of your purchase will benefit Relay For Life.

5. Every Friday night this month, the has been 10 percent of purchases between 5 and 9 p.m. to a Montville PTO. This Friday will be the last chance to participate, so if you want to support one of the PTOs, make sure to grab a donation form and head to the diner for dinner on Friday.
