Trash Collection Schedule Changed

A look at everything you need to know about the storm.

Snow is blowing, and the National Weather Service is predicting the possibility of a few more snow showers through Wednesday. Montville Patch will provide updates throughout the "snow day" about everything you need to know.

  • You Need to Know That Trash Collection has Been Changed: According to a post on the township's webiste, garbage pickup has been changed as a result of the snow. Wednesday'a paper recylcing pickup has been moved to Thursday. Thursday's section 1 garbage collection has been moved to Friday. Friday's section 2 garbage collection has been moved to Saturday.
  • You Need to Know Morris County Municipal Offices Open Late: The Morris County municipal offices will open at 10 a.m., and the Board of the Chosen Freeholders will meet at 10:30 a.m. instead of 9:30 a.m. 
  • School's Out: Montville Township Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday.
  • State Offices To Have Delayed Opening: Gov. Chris Christie announced Tuesday night that all state offices will open two hours late Wednesday.
  • New Jersey Transit Cross-Honoring Tickets: NJ Transit will cross-honor all tickets from Tuesday night at 7 p.m. through Wednesday afternoon.
  • Be Safe on the Roads: If you have to be on the roads in the snow, the Division of Highway Traffic and Safety encourages the following steps: Tune up and winterize their vehicles, as well as check the radiator, battery, antifreeze, and all other fluid levels. Check tire treads and replace them if they're unsafe. Check and replace windshield wiper blades if the rubber is cracked and/or brittle, and be sure to check and refill the washer fluid reservoir. Maintain at least a half a tank of gas during the winter to prevent the fuel line from freezing.
