Let Loose Before Lent

Three meetings scheduled for a sunny Tuesday

At this point, the word is out on The Township Committee is meeting at 7 p.m. at the municipal building.

With that in mind, here at least five other things worth knowing in Montville on March 8:

  1. The Board of Education candidates will be announced: The Montville Board of Education will have three open seats in the coming April election and potential candidates have until today to declare their candidacy. Montville Patch will have the information as soon as it becomes available.
  2. The township’s 2011 budget is being worked on: Besides, you know, the other thing going on tonight, the Township Committee will be discussing the 2011 municipal budget, as well as its goals for the coming year at its 8 p.m. meeting at he municipal building.
  3. The Design Review Committee will be having an early morning: No agenda on this one yet, but the Design Review Committee, a branch of the township’s land-use department, will be meeting at the municipal building at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
  4. It’s Fat Tuesday: March 8 is the day before lent, which is traditionally a time of cutting back and making sacrifices for Catholics. With that in mind, now is the time to get some chocolate in you. Hit up the Landaure Café to get something sweet before 40 days of leafy greens.
  5. The sun is coming out: After a flood warning on Monday, the National Weather Service is calling for a sunny day in Montville Tuesday. Highs are expected in the high 40s during the day with a low of 25 at night.
