Leap Year Birthday: Webber Turns 10

The District 26 assemblyman was born Feb. 29, 1972.

Republican Assemblyman Jay Webber's birthday is Wednesday.

He's 40, but because his leap year birthday—Feb. 29—only comes every four years, it's the 10th time the District 26 legislator gets to celebrate his birthday on the day he was born.

“I’m not eligible to serve in the Assembly until I’m 84 years old,” Webber told The Auditor, a Star-Ledger column on state government. “You should have (Democratic Assembly Speaker) Sheila Oliver look into that. She might appreciate it.”

Webber said his daughter is excited because she also turns 10 this year, in May.

Webber received leap year birthday shout-outs on the Capitol Quickies blog and from the New Jersey Assembly Republicans.
