Fire Rips Through Lake Valhalla Home

Montville police and fire officials responded to a house fire in a Lake Valhalla neighborhood that remained without power Tuesday. Officials were able to put out the fire, but the cause remained unknown.

Mayor Tim Braden said the information provided to the township by the utility company was not a fair representation of when and where in Montville the linemen were working. A spokesman for the company responded and said the numbers provided for how many residents would have power restored are based on estimates.

Residents in some parts of Montville waited longer than others to have their power come back. Frustration grew as many were more than 10 days without it.

Montville Officials Prepare for 'Major Winter Storm'

Though no damage was reported in the township following Wednesday's nor'easter, officials treated the storm as if it would be a major winter event.

Montville Helping Montville: CT Ships 8 Boxes of Food

Our "sister" site in Connecticut organized a donation drive to collect food and non-perishables to mail to the township. Eight full boxes of items were shipped to Montville Wednesday.
