Homework-Free Break, Customers Steal From Farm Stand Top Local News

The Montville Homework Taskforce has made many suggestions to improve the district's homework policy for the upcoming school year. The district has said it will start implementing some of the suggestions, including not giving homework assignments over holiday breaks. 

Honesty has been lackingat the Orchard Hill Farm's self-service stand on Jacksonville Road in Towaco where the owners are considering closing up shop after customers have not paid for produce and event recently made off with $70 worth of items.

Fourteen-year-old Leah Wis likes recently medaled in two out of four events at the 2012 USA National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championship. The event was held at Morgan State University in Baltimore, and she spent the entire week at the competition. This year, Wis competed in the youth division in the high jump, triple jump, discus and javelin throw events. She placed fourth in discus, sixth in triple jump, ninth in high jump and 17th in javelin, the newest event to her.

The Montville Ainimal Shelter's new location, 7 Church Lane, is expected to open this fall. The shelter will be fully air conditioned, have separate dog and cat isolation areas, and more new features.

A two car crash occurred on Thursday afternoon in from of Montville Bagels and Delicatessan. Two injured people were transported to Morristown Memorial Hospital.
