Joe Giudice Court Date Set for End of Month

'Real Housewives of New Jersey' husband scheduled to set date for trial.

Giuseppe "Joe" Giudice will have his day in court later this month as the "Real Housewives of New Jersey" husband of Towaco resident Teresa Giudice is scheduled to appear to set a trial date on charges of possessing a fraudulent driver's license.

According to Passaic County Assistant Prosecutor Jay McCann, Giudice will appear in state Superior Court in Paterson on Oct. 29 before Judge Greta Gooden-Brown. McCann said Giudice has still not made a firm decision on whether to accept a plea bargain but that one would be needed soon.

"He's going to have to make a decision because the judge has indicated that a decision here has to be made so we can set a definitive trial date," McCann said.

Giudice was initially scheduled to appear Monday to set a trial date, but McCann said the appearance was adjourned. McCann is still waiting to hear from Giudice's attorney on whether he would now accept a plea bargain after it was reported in July that he rejected a plea bargain for five years in prison.

Giudice was indicted in December after the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office alleged Giudice had used his brother's identifying information to obtain a driver's license from the Department of Motor Vechicles in Paterson in June 2010. At the time, Giudice's license was suspended.
