Superintendent's Recommendation: A class rank task force for Montville schools has made a "very strong recommendation to eliminate class rank" and Superintendent Dr. Paul Fried expects to make his recommendation on the subject at the Board of Education's Tuesday meeting. The meeting is scheduled for 8 p.m. in the municipal building. Fried also plans to discuss administrative hiring and district music goals, according to the meeting agenda.

School Projects: An update from the district business administrator on the installation of the synthetic turf field at Montville Township High School and the district's summer construction projects also is on the Board of Education meeting agenda.

Organize Your Garage, Basement & Attic: Professional organizer Deborah Gussoff returns to the Montville Township Public Library at 7 p.m. Wednesday to teach a free class on how to tackle the clutter in storage areas.

Photo 101: Photographer Jill Glaser is scheduled to teach tips, tricks and techniques used by professional photographers to improve photos of kids, grandkids and family gatherings in a free class scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at the library.

Sidewalk Ordinance: The Montville Township Committee has spelled out who is responsible for taking care of trees and sidewalks around the township. The issue came up in the wake of damage from Superstorm Sandy. Look for a story about what township regulations specify.
