In response to overwhelming demand, the Montville Library is happy to announce that it is instituting its first lecture series!

At 1 p.m. on the last two Thursdays in January and the first Thursday in February, Dr. Christopher M. Bellitto will present “Ancient Afternoons,” a series of three lectures on Ancient Greece. Lecture topics include “Trojan War: History and Legend” – Jan. 24; “Sparta and Athens: Two Ways of Being Greek” -  Jan. 31; and “Alexander the Great: History and Legend” – Feb. 7.

Dr. Bellitto is the History Department Chair at Kean University, where he teaches courses on the Ancient World and Medieval Europe. An engaging and dynamic lecturer, he is an editor, a prolific author, and a frequent media commentator on church history.

The lecture series will explore Ancient Greece and look closely at three of its most intriguing elements. Come to one lecture or to all three.
