Where to Find Best Black Friday Deals in Parsippany

Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday rule the shopping roost after Thanksgiving.

If you have a black belt in Black Friday shopping, listen up: area big-box retailers are gearing up to dazzle bargain hunters even earlier this year—starting on Thanksgiving Day!

Last week, Walmart announced that it would open its doors at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 22, and offer holiday doorbusters while supplies last. These include deals on TVs, iPads, an electric scooter for $79 and a steam mop for $39.

Not to be outdone, Target and Best Buy are also planning all-out holiday shopping assaults.

Target's deals begin at 9 p.m. According to an ad leaked online, the best deals will be for TVs, a Nook, a Nikon camera and an XBOX 360 Kinect bundle.

At  Best Buy, doors open at midnight. Doorbusters include deals on TVs, phones and Samsung laptop bundles.

Walmart will offer its biggest deals from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Thanksgiving night. The store will offer three items at low prices—an iPad, a TV and a Blu-ray player. If the store runs out, you can still buy them at discounted prices but you must register for them online by midnight and have them delivered to your local store.

The nearest Target can be found at 130 Route 10 in East Hanover. Best Buy is also in East Hanover, at 410 Route 10. The Walmart closest to Parsippany is in Boonton, at 300 Wootton St.

According to TheBlackFriday.com, several other stores will also have doorbuster sales on Thursday night or at midnight Friday, including Kohl's at 1711 Route 10 in Morris Plains, Game Stop in Morris Hills Shopping Center and Kmart in Arlington Plaza on Route 46.

Dollar General at 295 Route 46 in Rockaway, offers super-thrifty shoppers deals on toys, holiday trimmings, housewares and grocery items Thanksgiving Day from 7 a.m.-6 p.m.

Michael's, at 1099 Route 46 in Parsippany, offers Black Friday savings too, but don't expect midnight shopping there. The store is open Thanksgiving Day from 4-11 p.m. and on Black Friday from 7 a.m.-10 p.m.

For early morning traditionalists, some stores will open at 4 a.m. with special sales. If you want to keep up with all of the Black Friday deals, you can check your favorite retailers' Facebook pages.

Parsippany's Staples, in Arlington Plaza, opens at 5 a.m. Friday and offers early-bird specials through noon, including laptop and desktop computers, a super-cheap 16 GB flash drive and a 12-sheet cross-cut shredder. Afternoon Black Friday deals include numerous types of combination printer/scanner/fax machines, portable hard drives and digital cameras.

And of course there are special discounts and freebies being offered in conjunction with Black Friday:

  • The Parsippany Smashburger offers customers a free side with purchase of a Black Bean Burger on Black Friday and all weekend long.
  • Quick Chek's Parsippany Road and North Beverwyck Road locations offer a free cup of coffee on Black Friday; see the store for details.
