Pine Brook Piano Restorer Works on Opera House's Steinway

Lindeblad Piano Restoration was shipped 1927 Steinway Model L Ebony Baby Grand Piano from opera house in Maine.

A 1927 Steinway Model L Ebony Baby Grand Piano that was gifted to the Camden Opera House in Maine in 1930 was sent to be restored in Montville Township last week.

Lindeblad Piano Restoration on Route 46 in Pine Brook was the destination for the piano, which has been played by celebrated pianists, after it was dismantled and shipped last week, according to the Penobscot Bay Pilot. The opera house received a grant to fund the restoration.

"We considered all alternatives, including the option of selling it and purchasing a new one, but the history of the donation and it's link to Camden and the quality and inherent value of a Steinway guided us to the restoration decision," Kerry Hadley, Camden Opera House manager, told the paper.

The Lindeblad family has been in the piano business for more than 90 years and has run its piano restoration and sales business in a shopping center on Route 46 for the past decade. They also opened a music school next door in 2011.
