This week's "Jerseylicious" was a focus on how to roll with the Jersey crowd—and cast members offered tips on everything from losing weight to navigating the turnpike.
Hairstylist Olivia Blois Sharpe, a Montville High School graduate, shared several of her own secrets with a focus on accessorizing and losing weight. And for Sharpe, she had very clear tips for fans.
In terms of accessorizing, Sharpe focused her attention on rings—and the bigger they are, the better.
Sharpe said she bought her first ring when was 14 years old, and since then, her jewelry has gotten bigger and bigger. She added that she also has a lot of animal rings, each with a name of its own.
"I name all of them because anything with a face deserves a name," she said, completely seriously.
Sharpe then proceeded to share the fact that several of the rings cannot be placed next to each other because they are animals that would normally get in fights.
In addition, Sharpe shared her secrets to losing weight—they start with dancing workouts for your arms and inner thighs, and end with eating gummy bears.
Yes, lots and lots of gummy bears.
According to Sharpe, her family once bought an industrial size portion of gummy bears and she was hungry, so she grabbed a tub of them and started eating—and she eventually became so nauseous, she couldn't eat anything else.
And that's how she keeps the weight off—sounds a little bit dangerous to eat until nausea hits.
Anyway, aside from learning how to drive Jersey style, stay in shape and go down to the shore with the family, the episode also featured secrets of the "Jerseylicious" cast.
Such secrets included Gatsby manager, and Flemington resident, Christy Pereira's skill in competitive cheerleading and the revelation that Gatsby owner, and Bridgewater resident, Gayle Giacomo has had three weddings.
Unfortunately, Giacomo said, none of the marriages lasted.
Sharpe also recounted a story from her Montville days when she was on her way to a Bar Mitzvah, and the students on the bus started pressuring her to kiss a boy, who also happened to be a good friend.
Sharpe admitted they did kiss, and, well, they both acknowledged it was all a little bit awkward.
What did you think of the tips and ideas from the "Jerseylicious" cast? Is that what being "Jersey" is all about?
