JCP&L Tree Trimming to Include Roads Near Rt. 46

Residents welcome the work, which the power company says was delayed by Hurricane Irene and the October snowstorm.

Tree, shrub and brush trimming that Jersey Central Power & Light is planning to do in the Lake Valhalla section on Montville Township also will also be done on streets around Route 46, according to an update on the township website.

Ron Morano, a JCP&L spokesman, said the power company is catching up on regular trimming along its distribution circuits.

Some of the work was put on hold because of Hurricane Irene and the October snowstorm, he said.

"The vegetation management program controls trees, shrubs and brush growth around our facilities and equipment—including power lines—and is performed every four years," he said.

I agree, my dad lives on Stoneybrook near Waughaw and his power is out everytime there is a storm because of a downed tree on Waughaw.
