Volunteers Wanted to Clean Up Pyramid Mountain

REI and the Morris County Parks Commission have partnered for Sunday event.

REI and Morris County Parks Commission are partnering to create a stewardship project in honor of Earth Day to help maintain the trails of Pyramid Mountain Natural Historic Area.

There will be a free event on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to help restore the Pyramid Mountain Natural Historic Area.

"Are you looking for some dirty and rewarding volunteer opportunities?  Do you hike at Pyramid Mountain often and would like to give back?  Now is your chance to work on the trails at Pyramid Mountain," according to a statement announcing the event.

"Help us and REI realign and create new trails at Pyramid Mountain. We are trying to get back in tip, top shape after all the power line work that happened over the past year and half and this is our start."

Those attending are advised to wear clothing and footwear you don't mind getting dirty. Long sleeve shirts and pants as well as a hat, hiking boots or old sneakers, sunblock, sunglasses, water bottle and snacks are recommended.

All volunteers will receive an "REI Get Dirty" T-shirt. Registration is required and limited to 50 people.
