Relay for Life Invites Montville to Join the Fight Against Cancer

Sixth annual event scheduled for Saturday from noon to midnight.

The sixth annual Relay for life is set for Saturday from noon to midnight at the Montville Township High School track. The opening ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. 

Over the past five years, Montville Township Relay For Life has raised over $550,000 on behalf of the American Cancer Society.

This year's event will include team fundraising a Dunk Tank, a bounce house, and various childrens' games. Participants can also enjoy live music by Anthony Duke Clause, Montville's School of Rock, We Stole the Weekend, and the Sam Haiman Band.

Cancer survivors are guests of the Really and admission to the event is free. Several health and wellness services will be available for survivors and their caregivers. 

"Funds raised during the Relay For Life go to help support the American Cancer Society’s mission to eliminate cancer," the press release read, "by helping people stay well, by helping people get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back."

Participants can register at www.relayforlife.org/montvillenj. The site also offers luminaries, which will be used to honor those affected by cancer and to decorate the track.
