Civil War Talk Will Be Hosted at Montville Library

Morris County Historical Society to speak about the impact of the Civil War on local politics.

The Montville Township Public Library will be hosting a lecture on the Civil War and its effect on local government on Oct. 12.

The lecture, entitled "Morris County in the Civil War: The Conflict, the County & The Citizens," will be presented by a speaker from the Morris County Historical Society. Soldiers and regiments from Morris County will be discussed, as well as the impact of the war on local politics.

Attendees will also learn about the role of women who stayed at home during the war and the impact of soldier's aid and Bible organizations on the war.

This program is part of the library's "Prime Time in the Pio Costa" series and will be held in the Pio Costa auditorium at 1 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Registration is suggested for the event and can be done by calling 973-402-0900, extension 227.
