MEF Has MTHS Business Classes Hearing Things!

May 7, 2014…The Montville Educational Foundation (MEF) recently awarded a Grant for a “SMARTBoard Projection Audio System” to Laura Fuhrmann, MTHS Financial Literacy teacher.   “I am thrilled to be able to break the silence in the business classrooms with the support of the MEF.  This grant allows MTHS to bring an exceptional listening experience to the students in our technologically integrated, 21st Century classrooms.  The audio system provides the business teachers with an additional tool to create high-impact lessons that provide multiple ways for the students to connect with the curriculum,” stated  Fuhrmann.

“THE MEF organization is happy to support an idea that combines traditional teaching methodologies with innovative technology,” said Michael Abramson, President of the Montville Educational Foundation (MEF).  “Interactive SMARTBoards with SMART audio systems allow the teachers to bring the outside world into the classroom by enhancing the students’ learning experience via interactive activities such as audio and video clips.”

Dr. Sandra Schwartz, Supervisor of Math, Business & Science, had this to add, “The Business Department feels very fortunate to have received such a generous donation from the MEF. These speakers will enable the department to incorporate dynamic multimedia experiences into their classrooms and will support Business Department’s curricular goals facilitating student achievement. This gift is another excellent example of how our community supports our teachers’ efforts in the classroom.”
